The Mission of the District
The mission of the District is to enhance the performance and extend the network of Clubs, thereby offering greater numbers of people the opportunity to benefit from the Toastmasters educational program by:
- Focusing on the critical success factors as specified by the District educational and membership goals.
- Insuring that each Club effectively fulfills its responsibilities to its members.
- Providing effective training and leadership opportunities for Club and District Officers.
About Toastmasters
Toastmasters International is the world's largest self-paced program devoted to the improvement of personal communication and leadership skills. Since 1924 over one million people have benefited from active participation.
Today, there are 11,500 clubs worldwide with 226,000 members in more than 92 countries.
Membership Dues
Our members pay dues of $27 every six months plus a one-time $20 new member fee. Members receive the "Communication and Leadership" manual covering public speaking fundamentals, a monthly magazine, "The Toastmaster", and other materials on communication and leadership.
Benefits of Toastmasters
Take the opportunity to develop your public speaking skills. Many other communication skills are also cultivated and refined in each club. Other opportunities exist for developing your leadership shills as well. Many members continue to come after completing the basic manual as they find a steady growth in themselves. And last but not least, most people would rank their fear of public speaking above any other fears. Confronting and overcoming this fear can help lead you to a new and surprising confidence, in all aspects of life.
