District 62 Toastmasters
Serving the State of Michigan

Set your educational goals now!
Happy New Year, fellow District 62Toastmasters! What an exciting year we will have for 2010-2011! As your new Lieutenant Governor of Education and Training, I want to congratulate everyone for achieving your educational and leadership goals this past year.
What would you like to accomplish this year? Now is the time to set your goals both personally and professionally. Use the programs Toastmasters International has to offer. Has anyone in your club presented the Leadership Excellence Series Module - Goal Setting and Planning? This is a 10-15 minute prepared speech any member can present to the club. If you present this program - you are getting credit toward one of the parts for your Advanced Leader Bronze Award. You can find this program, along with the rest of the Leadership Excellence Modules on the Toastmasters International website, here.
You are responsible for your educational path in Toastmasters. When you first joined, at least in the last two years, you received a document called the Member Achievement Record. This is a wonderful tool that can help track member progress in the Toastmasters Educational program. If you have misplaced this, or do not have it, you can order it directly from Toastmasters International through the TI Store. It is item #1328 and costs only 50 cents. I would highly recommend that each club order these to have on hand or discuss at a club meeting. You could easily make a speech just discussing this document.
Did you as a member, or an incoming club officer attend our Toastmasters Leadership Institute on June 19th? If not, check out www.62toast.com for make-up trainings to be offered around the state in the months of July and August. Click on Calendar of Events, and choose which training works best for your schedule. Club officers - remember that at least 4 out of 7 officers must attend this District training twice each year. When Club officers attend training, they learn how to best help each club member achieve their goals.
Thanks everyone for all you do for Toastmasters and what you will accomplish this year in Toastmasters!
