As Lt. Governor of Marketing, I am excited about the rebranding efforts at the international level and what this will mean for our own District, Division, Areas, and Club levels.  Not only will we benefit from the new external tools such as a consistent look within our brand, but it can also serve as the catalyst for our District to promote a consistent internal brand image within every one of our clubs.

Collaboration is key at any level within our organization. Your District is asking every Division, Area, Club, and individual to be part of the bigger picture. Adding new clubs, while important, is really only a small part of our marketing effort. Keeping existing clubs strong by providing the tools for sustainable long-run success is really what the big picture is all about. There is always a secondary effect to every action or inaction taken.  By maintaining strong, consistent clubs, growth happens.

The formula for having a successful club is simple:  create an environment where members are able to maximize their Toastmaster experience.  That means holding quality meetings and maintaining club membership at charter strength of twenty or more. As you map out your club’s plan for success, here are some time-tested, membership-building programs and activities to promote growth.  Beginning August 1, the Smedly Award contest begins.  Incentives abound for clubs who successfully add five new, dual, or reinstated members during the contest period.  Later in the year, you’ll have an opportunity to participate in two other contests, Talk up Toastmasters and Beat the Clock.

District 62 has many resources to help you get the most from your Toastmaster experience and expand your horizons by exploring new opportunities. Please consider becoming a Club Coach for those that could use some help getting back on track, or becoming a new club sponsor or mentor as our network of clubs expand.
