Expanding your Influence:  The Art of Rhetorical Appeals; Teri Horton, High Noon Toastmasters, Port Huron
Teri is the Director of College Writing, Baker College of Port Huron.  Participants will learn specific strategies to improve their persuasive skills and to “express themselves” in a more powerful way.  Attendees will learn about three rhetorical appeals and how they work to persuade an audience.  This will be an interactive session, one we highly recommend!

Communicating Effectively in Conflicts; Jon Griffin
Jon Griffin is a member of LunchBunch Toastmasters & Cascade Engineering Toastmasters.  Jon will help participants recognize different ways people handle conflict; identify ineffective communication that can lead to conflict; tools for effective communication during conflict and practice good interpersonal communication skills.  You won’t want to miss this session.

We are halfway into the second quarter of 2012 – how are your New Year’s Resolutions coming along?  Do you remember what they were?  Today we will explore ways in which we can get to our goals one day at a time, how to take your monumental goals and break them into bite-sized tasks, and most importantly, how to work at them each day

Participants in this workshop will learn how to prepare for any negotiation.    Their assumptions on how to negotiate will be challenged.  They will leave with a process they can use for any situation.

  • Research:  You can successfully anticipate most of what’s coming your way,
  • Prepare:  You can prepare and change the nature of any negotiation
  • Execute: The answer is always no, if you don’t ask

This workshop will help clubs increase their membership and sustain this membership.  Paul will present a general sales formula and the importance of a buyer/seller relationship.  Paul will share the “process” of the sales pitch, how to drive, maintain, keep tabs on and increase your membership.  Audience will get involved in role play, evaluate what works and what doesn’t.  Brainstorming “recruitment” will provide opportunities and solutions for most every situation.
